Hayes vs. DeSantis – Mask Mandate Case

It is our belief that courthouse doors should be open to all parents whose children with disabilities will be in danger if schools are allowed to open without following common-sense public health guidelines that all people should be wearing masks. Our argument is simple and plain, politics do not override the ability for a child to go to school without risk of serious injury of death. Since we filed the case on Friday, we have received calls and emails from many parents wanting to be a part of this case and to have their voices heard. If you have a child with a disability whose has an IEP or 504 plan and you believe that they are at risk of injury or death if they become infected with Covid-19, we would be happy to speak with you, evaluate your child’s legal rights, and ensure that your voice is heard. There is never a guarantee of success or results and being involved in any type of litigation may be invasive and time consuming - but if it is important to you, it will be important for us. Please call Disability Independence Group at (305) 669-2822 or email us your information at info@justdigit.org, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
