Hi DIG family!

In my personal opinion, the best part of leaving the house isn’t the actual event; it’s getting ready. As a makeup and beauty connoisseur, I love discovering new products, testing new techniques, and keeping up with the latest trends. But my favorite part of all is sharing my favorite products and tips with my friends. I firmly believe that beauty should be for everyone, which is why I care so much about products with inclusive designs that have everyone in mind. In this article, I’ll be sharing one of my favorite brands and a few of my favorite products that prove beauty can be both high-quality and accessible!

The first brand that comes to mind when I think of accessibility and quality is Rare Beauty. Founded by singer and actress Selena Gomez, Rare Beauty has become a leader in creating products that are both innovative and inclusive. After being diagnosed with lupus in 2013, Gomez experienced firsthand how difficult it could be to use everyday products when dealing with pain, swelling, and limited hand mobility. That experience inspired her to create beauty products with packaging that is easier for everyone to use.

Rare Beauty also launched the “Made Accessible Initiative”, partnering with the Casa Colina Research Institute to better understand what makes a product more accessible. The research they gather helps shape the design of their packaging, and the brand hopes to make these accessibility innovations more widely available throughout the beauty industry. Even better, the thoughtful packaging never comes at the expense of quality, which is one of the many reasons Rare Beauty has become one of my favorite makeup brands.

My top Favorite Rare Beauty Products:

  • The Soft Pinch Liquid Blush: This blush features a small flat ball on the cap that provides a stable surface to grip and twist open, making it easier to use for people with limited finger strength. It comes in a wide variety of shades, making it accessible to makeup lovers of all skin tones. The lightweight formula blends effortlessly over both creams and powders, leaving a beautiful, natural-looking flush.

  • The Positive Light Liquid Luminizer: This highlighter features a rounded cap that is easy to grip and twist open. Available in several shades, it gives the skin a beautiful, radiant glow and blends seamlessly into any makeup look.

  • The Rare Eau de Parfum: This perfume features an oversized pump that can be pressed with different parts of the hand or body, making it easier to use. The bottle is also designed with a secure grip and a simple twist-lock mechanism. The fragrance itself is a warm blend of vanilla, caramel, and sandalwood that lasts throughout the day.scent that lingers on the skin.

  • The Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil: This lip oil uses the same accessible flat-ball cap as the blush, making it easy to grip and open. The matte finish on the bottle helps prevent slipping while opening it. It’s one of my favorite lip products because it gives the lips a beautiful glossy finish without feeling sticky, then dries down into a long-lasting stain.

  • The Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer: This tinted moisturizer features a cap designed for easy, one-handed opening. The bottle’s size, shape, and matte finish provide a secure grip while making it easier to squeeze. It comes in a wide range of shades and has a lightweight, hydrating formula that looks beautiful on its own or underneath the rest of your makeup.

Overall, accessibility in the beauty space shouldn’t be rare; it should be the standard. Everyone deserves products that are thoughtfully designed, easy to use, and high quality. Brands like Rare Beauty show that accessibility and innovation can go hand in hand, and I hope more companies continue to make inclusive design a priority. I hope you guys enjoyed this brand spotlight and are maybe even influenced to try out some of my recommendations!
